A portfolio site built from scratch- no frameworks, no templates, just HTML and CSS. Made it because I wanted somewhere to point clients to, and because having a proper domain opens up a lot of doors. It also doubles as a hub for my self-hosted services.
Why did you build this yourself?
Using a site builder felt like cheating. Building it by hand means I know exactly what's in it and why.
What's it built with?
Plain HTML and CSS. Hosted on GitHub Pages. Nothing fancy.
Why bother having a personal domain?
A domain name is useful. It's a permanent address you actually own- one place to send clients, link projects, and tie everything together.
